Our family made a big decision in 2023 to move from the only home we have ever lived in (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) to a small university town in Nova Scotia (Antigonish). With this huge change, we decided to take advantage of all of the outdoor adventures and tourist attractions that this province has to offer. Nova Scotia is one of the most beautiful provinces Canada with vast forests, tides, and practically surrounded by ocean (no wonder it is called Canada’s Ocean Playground).

In the middle of everything, I decided to take a big shift from my career as a bookkeeper and started job working at a four season recreational mountain, the Keppoch as a Manager of Operations. This has allowed me to pursue more love for the outdoors working with some great people in the industry. I have also furthered my involvement with the paddling/boating community, joining as a board member for the Antigonish Boat Club. And it hasn’t stopped there! Here are some of my other credentials/certifications:

• OCC (Outdoor Council of Canada) Field Leader - Hiking

• Sea Kayak Level 1 Certification with Paddle Canada

• Stand Up Paddleboard Skills Level 1 & 2

I started this blog/website to document all of the outdoor wonders we have discovered since moving. We have found that there is no shortage of adventures to seek and will continue sharing. My vision with “Awaken Your Adventure” is that you can start exploring your adventurous side at any stage of life. I have started at the age of 46, and plan to keep it going for many more years to come!
